Building the last all-gun cruiser

Next to join the collection will be the Doggy Industries kit of the Dutch postwar crusier De Ruyter (C801). This has been a slow build, due to being a complex kit (many sub-millimetre parts...) and increased work demands throughout 2024.

These pictures show is where I left her before packing up for the holidays.

This kit has the best photoetch set I have ever seen. For example, each section of railing comes separately numbered, and the measurements are precise. In additon, there are plenty of spares in case you lose stuff (as I usually do).

Port view. Just starting on adding the railing and details. Other sub-assemblies (masts, other armament) done and safely waiting in a box.

Sorry for the dark picture. The hull grey is actually much lighter in person.

Wishing everybody a great Christmas and New Year holiday!
